The Canadian
Foundation for Chinese
Heritage
Preservation
(the "Foundation") is a national charitable organization registered in
Canada since July, 1993. Its objective is to promote Canadian interest in the
education, preservation and appreciation of Chinese cultural and historical
treasures.
China is one of the oldest
civilizations in the world. Its vast expanse of cultural wealth embodies some of
mankind's noblest achievements, transcending time and national boundaries.
Chinese treasures are treasures of all mankind. The preservation of this
heritage is for all peoples of the world and for the children of our children.
Inspired by this vision, the Foundation was born. As a charitable non-profit
community organization, the Foundation is national in scope and open to
international cooperation.
Her Excellency, the Right Honourable Michaëlle
Jean, C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D., Governor General of Canada, and the Vice Chair
of The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Mr. Wang
Guangying, are Co-Patrons of the Foundation. (more)

An Evening
with Chinese Treasures - Gala Royale

2008

On March 8, 2008, at the Metro Toronto Convention
Centre, the Foundation held its annual Chinese Treasures Gala and Auction to
raise funds in support of its work. Sponsors and supporters of 500 people
attended and $150,000 was raised. The theme for this 2008 gala was Gala Royale.
There was a live auction conducted by the internationally renowned auction house
Christie's, on exquisite and rare pieces of Chinese works of art.
